Senior Data Engineer (AWS) - Manchester

Our client is a global innovator and world leader with one of the most recognisable names within technology. They are looking for a skilled Senior Data Engineer to become an integral part of their Data Engineering Team, spearheading the evolution of the company's data infrastructure. You will be developing sophisticated data integrations with various platforms, developing real‑time data solutions, improving automation and enabling crucial business intelligence. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer capable of taking ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and ETL processes using AWS services. You will also be contributing to cloud migration and implementing architectural solutions, as well as ensuring data quality and integrity and providing technical guidance to juniors. Key responsibilities include: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes on AWS (Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, EMR). Build and optimise real‑time data solutions and automation. Lead the design of the data lakehouse and data warehousing architecture. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Required skills and qualifications: Strong proficiency in AWS services (Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, EMR). Expertise in Python, SQL, PySpark, and pipeline orchestration. Experience with data lakehouse architectures and data warehousing solutions. Experience in Agile environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
