Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Location: Newport News, VA Schedule: Full-Time | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Pay: $15.00 per hour Pyramid Healthcare in Newport News is seeking dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing direct support to individuals on their recovery journey in a structured, therapeutic environment. Position Summary The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care and supervision to clients receiving treatment services. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive environment while assisting clients in following their individualized treatment plans. Essential Responsibilities Assist with the intake and admission process for new clients Communicate effectively with team members through verbal updates and written documentation Provide direct client support and actively listen to treatment needs Maintain a structured, safe, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when necessary Coordinate and facilitate scheduled activities, including educational lectures, recreation, and group meetings Conduct mandatory bed checks and complete detailed shift reports Participate in shift changes, team meetings, and company meetings Ensure clients follow daily schedules and treatment plans Monitor the medication line in accordance with policy Transport clients to meetings, appointments, and recreational activities as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous behavioral health or human services experience preferred Pyramid CORE Values We are committed and proud to live our CORE values and use them to inspire those around us.
