We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Special Education Coordinator to join our dynamic team at North Shore High School. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing personalized education plans that help our students succeed, regardless of the obstacles they face.


Key Responsibilities:

• IEP Mastermind: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that are as unique as our students. Regularly review and adjust these plans to ensure goals are met and exceeded.
• Student Champion: Provide direct support and tailored instruction to students with special needs, both inside and outside the classroom. Develop innovative strategies and interventions to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional challenges.
• Team Collaborator: Work closely with educators, administrators, and families to ensure that students receive the accommodations and modifications they need to thrive. Facilitate open and effective communication between all stakeholders.
• Advocacy Warrior: Advocate fiercely for the needs and rights of students with disabilities. Foster an inclusive and supportive school culture that celebrates diversity and promotes awareness and understanding of special education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Valid Ohio teaching license as an Intervention Specialist
• Demonstrated experience in special education, including developing and implementing IEPs
• Deep understanding of special education laws and regulations
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team
• A steadfast commitment to the success and well-being of students with special needs
• Experience in a dropout recovery or non-traditional educational setting is a plus
