Project Engineer - Construction

Job Description:The Construction Project Engineer leads management of construction documents including drawings, RFIs, submittals, reports, procurement, change orders and other processes throughout the construction project. Additionally, the Project Engineer coordinates between the Project Management staff and Superintendent staff regarding design, procurement, schedule, field issues, and other construction items.Perks and Benefits:When you feel good, you do good. In addition, we offer:Generous PTO Plan401(k) employer matchReferral programFree on-site parking or commuting supportHotel discount at various propertiesAnnual education allowance of up to $1,000Residential housing discount after 1 year of continuous employmentWhat Will You Do?Assist in all aspects of preconstruction, estimating, coordination, execution, and closeout of construction projects.Report to Superintendent/ Project Manager and closely work with Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, field staff, subcontractors, design consultants, third parties, city officials, utility companies, and other internal Onni departments.Pre-Construction Phase ResponsibilitiesAssist in quantity takeoffs, buyout process, and developing scopes of workAssist with cost estimates, budget development, and value engineeringResearch and prequalify vendors and subcontractorsConstruction Phase ResponsibilitiesManage document control including drawings, specifications, and other supplemental informationResponsible for coordinating and attending meetings, and distributing meeting minutesUtilize project management software for processing RFI’s and submittalsTrack material lead times and procurement statusAttend coordination meetings and track action items / to-do listsProcess permits and city approvals as requiredAssist with change order management and trackingDevelop and manage various tracking logs including permits, contracts, change orders, procurement, RFIs, submittals, punch lists, etc.Communicate with field staff, subcontractors, design consultants, third parties, city officials, utility companies, and other internal Onni departments.Assist in BIM Coordination processField ResponsibilitiesAssist superintendents with overseeing site activities and communicating with subcontractorsProcess purchase orders and track deliveriesDocument site issues, design changes, and potential cost impactsParticipate in site safety reviewsDevelop and maintain punch lists and deficiency listsCoordinates site visits from consultants and third partiesPerform site walks with checklists to ensure compliance to ONNI standards and project documentsOccasional travel may be requiredPerforms other duties as requiredWhat You Bring:Associate’s degree or higher in Project Management or related field requiredDemonstrated knowledge of construction and building codes requiredProficiency in MS Project, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Windows and BluebeamSalary Range:$85,000-$115,000About The Company:OnniFor over half a century, Onni has been building communities for people to live, work, and play.
