Operations

Conduct day-to-day operations of Vande Hey’s dynamic Landscaping team. Enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment. Maintaining efficiencies of operations load unload, yard, and nursery including but not limited to loading and unloading crew vehicles. Assisting nursery professional, training as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities Defined:

· Loads and unloads material to and from job sites.

· Secure material on trucks and trailers for production team.

· Assist with loading unloading plant materials as they come in from vendors, stages them ready for placing where will be needed.

· Operates machines and trucks in a safe and efficient manner.

· Conducts routine inspections, fueling and greasing of equipment.

· Is in contact with yard supervisor daily who will let them know what plants and jobs will be needed for loading.

· Identifying and tagging plant material with proper label and pricing; Including retail plant inventory.

· Coordinate and communicate with purchaser, sales associate, and operation any plant material that was short or needing of replacement for anticipated job.

· Assist with work duties of nursery personnel in the care of all plant material in yard.

· Staking and weeding of trees and plant materials on Vande Hey Property including tree farms.

· Assist with watering and care for all plant material keeping them at their best.

· Aids retail pulling plants and loading material for customers.

· Responsible for other duties as assigned or needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

· Assist with Nursery/ Retail personal on customer service and loading of plant and bulk goods.

· Maintains the bunk areas free from debris and are pushed up daily.

· Assist with irrigation system trouble shooting as needed.

· Oversees that equipment and material all properly tied down.

· Ensures organization of buildings and grounds

· Assist with organized shelving units in operations in a neat fashion.

· Assist with organizing tool cage and managing that the operation is stocked with necessary equipment for crews.

Qualifications:
Ability to work 2nd shift: 11pm-7pm for (Full Time), 3pm to 7pm for (Part-Time)

Education

High School Diploma- Preferred

Experience

Forklift operation Experience 1 year or more- Required

Horticultural Experience of 1 or more years- Preferred

License

Valid Commercial Driver’s License- Preferred * Required to work towards in acceptance of job*

Personal Characteristics Profile:

Must work well independently and a part of a team. Must be self-motivated, be able to make accurate and timely decisions daily. Have a good understanding of horticultural and operation of machinery. Excellent communication skills and professionalism. 

Physical Requirements:

Stand for 8 or more hours.

Actively lifting, twisting, and bending for 8 hours.
