Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to lead manufacturing projects from concept through production. This role is responsible for project planning, engineering design, process improvement, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative, cost-effective manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from concept, design, and prototyping through implementation.
• Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Estimating, Customer Service, Production, and other internal teams.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and outside vendors.
• Oversee bid processes, negotiate contracts, and ensure project specifications are met.
• Track project costs while maintaining quality and budget objectives.
• Research new materials, manufacturing equipment, and production processes.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, documentation, and technical records.
• Ensure product designs meet manufacturability, performance, and feasibility requirements.
• Partner with suppliers on material selection and manufacturing improvements.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-7 years of Project Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with plastics manufacturing and/or mold fabrication is preferred.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Experience using MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office (MS Project preferred).
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
