Job Summary:

The Bottle Packaging Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring equipment involved in the bottling, capping, labeling, and packaging of pharmaceutical products. The role requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all applicable regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, cGMP).

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor automated and semi-automated bottling equipment including bottle unscramblers, fillers, cappers, labelers, and sealers
• Conduct in-process quality checks including fill weights, torque, seal integrity, lot/exp inkjet print and label placement
• Set up equipment for production runs and perform line clearance and changeovers according to SOPs
• Document production activities accurately and legibly in batch records and logbooks
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, GMP, and safety standards at all times
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas to prevent cross-contamination
• Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate complex problems to maintenance or supervision.
• Participates in root cause analysis following troubleshooting activities and customer complaints.
• Maintain supply levels for line operations (bottles, caps, labels, desiccants, etc.)
• Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work collaboratively with QA, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
• 1–2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment preferred
• Understanding of GMP, SOPs, and pharmaceutical packaging standards
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping
• Willingness to work flexible hours, shifts, weekends, and overtime as required

Preferred Skills and Certifications:

• Knowledge of FDA regulations and cGMP requirements
• Experience with bottling, or secondary packaging in a pharmaceutical setting
