RN (Registered Nurse)

**MUST HAVE LEVEL 1 TRAUMA EXPERIENCE** 50 MILE RADIUS RULE - NO LOCAL RATE - DL IS SOURCE OF TRUTH PRESCREEN INTERVIEW AUTO OFFER with 7 days of PTO or less, holiday time off must be approved by manager PRIOR TO SENDING CONTRACT, CANDIDATE MUST PASS ADVANCED DYSRHYTHMIA EXAM WITHIN 2 ATTEMPTS; PASSING SCORE IS 80%. If failed, candidate will be a DNU for 6 months within CS AZ and Sacramento Region PASS FAIL DAY 1 SIMs Lab: All ICU RNs will be expected to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes. This is for travelers going to St. Joseph main campus &/or St. Joseph Westgate campus. NOTE - SIMs lab is pass/fail & nurses have been termed during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field. Those travelers that understand sterile field typically pass SIMs Lab skills (See separate notes for the specific checklist IF traveler asks for additional details). The hospital expects that every nurse is competent in these areas, especially maintaining sterile field, as these are nursing skills that are performed frequently. NOTE: if a candidate indicates that they are not competent in either of these areas, they are probably not a good fit. In addition to SIMs Lab, they will also go through lifts, restraints, & wound care, but these are just educational based since the equipment & policies can be different facility to facility. Float Pool Experience Requirements: ICU Float Pool will be required to float amongst all ICU areas, as well as any MedSurg/Tele units. They can be floated to sister campus Westgate in Glendale and AZ General Laveen. The expectation is not that they specialize in everything & take the most acute patients in every area, but rather that they can function independently when floated to an outside area. Travelers must understand that that they will be floated & will not have an opportunity to refuse, stating that they ""don't do"" or ""won't do"" in regards to floating. CNM must document traveler's understanding of this on the prescreen interview form. Needs to be a well rounded ICU nurse. Must have 2 years (or more) experience in ICU. Level I trauma center and teaching hospital experience preferred due to the complexity and the high acuity of the patients" The ICU Float Cluster includes Tower 2, Tower 4, and 4 Neuro. Tower 2 has a 1:2 ratio and cares for medical, surgical, and trauma patients. Tower 4 is a cardiothoracic ICU specializing in lung transplants and ECMO, with a 1:2 ratio. 4 Neuro is a neuro-specific ICU with a 1:2 ratio. Tele Ratios 1:4 - Certs: BLS & ACLS required. NIHSS preferred but not required. - Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks, weekends are Saturday and Sundays - Holidays: holidays will be required, based on unit needs -Shifts/Schedule: 7AM-7:30PM or 7PM- 7:30PM; Schedule is 4 weeks in advance, can be changed two weeks in advance based on the needs of the hospital -Call: no call, if put on standby due to low census, response time is 30 mins drips: all critical drips RT Equipment: All types of respiratory support (vents, cpap, bipap, hi-flow tele monitors; GE equipment, RN must be able to read a tele strip - the staffing office is not on campus, if willing there is a texting service called GroupMe will be added to and will receive their assignment 30-60 minutes in advance; if GroupMe is not an option, traveler will have to receive and answer a phone call -Each unit has an area where the charge RN is located where they will receive their assignment sheet- you will change the department code for each unit you go to with each clocking. Expectation is for the RN to be on the unit by 7AM/7PM to hear shift huddle -orientation: 2 shifts of orientation- a third shift only as needed other notes :All reports are completed at the bedside and a quality 2 person skin assessment will be completed within the first 4 hours of your shift
