Controller Alameda County , CA Direct Hire Accounting Management $190K to $225K 08/27/2026 Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $190,000 to $225,000 per year. Job Responsibilities: Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and project accounting activities to ensure accurate financial performance tracking across multiple projects. Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow, and profitability while providing analysis and recommendations to leadership. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, and other day to day financial operations. Prepare financial statements, forecasts, management reports, and business performance analyses to support strategic decision making. Lead accounting staff while driving operational excellence, process improvements, technology enhancements, and strong internal control practices. Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Significant accounting and financial management experience within a construction, contracting, or project based environment. Strong knowledge of project accounting, job costing, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. Previous experience overseeing audits, tax compliance, internal controls, and regulatory reporting requirements. Proven ability to manage complex accounting functions, make sound business decisions, and support organizational growth initiatives. Qualifications: Prior experience supporting construction projects, work in progress reporting, cost tracking, and project profitability analysis. Strong understanding of payroll compliance, contract administration, lender reporting, and risk management practices. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience developing, mentoring, and managing high performing accounting teams. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify trends, variances, and business risks.
