Job Summary

To manually assemble various fiber optical (and electrical) connections according to provided blueprints, work instructions and quality requirements.

Primary Responsibilities / Job Duties

1. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
2. Manually assemble complex fiber optics 
3. Ensure completed assembly and its components meet specified requirements; Prepare finished assembly for shipment (labeling, packaging)
4. Continuous process improvement
5. Help maintain a safe work environment

Required Knowledge and Abilities

• Able to read and interpret schematics & assembly drawings
• Excellent hand-eye co-ordination and manual dexterity
• Able to bend and lift weight of up to 25 lbs. routinely and up to 50 lbs. on occasion
• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time (with neck bent forward)
• Able to concentrate when performing tasks that require accuracy
• Operation of desktop computer and peripherals
• Self-motivated team player with strong problem-solving skills
• Well organized and able to work within time constraints
• Able to multi-task
• Authentic, loyal, and reliable personality with good interpersonal skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Fluency in English. Other languages considered an asset
• Respect company-defined work and break times
• Periodic use of microscope
• Ability to count large amounts of small fibers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
