Labor and Delivery RN - 13 Week Contract

Location: Walnut Creek, CA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week. RNs will be required to work 4 out of 8 weekend shifts per schedule.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in labor and delivery with experience in high-risk cases. Must be autonomous, capable of performing vaginal examinations, and have strong fetal heart monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to mothers and newborns during labor and delivery.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal conditions throughout labor.
• Administer medications and interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurse midwives and neonatologists.
• Perform vaginal exams and assist in C-sections and other procedures as necessary.
• Document patient progress and communicate changes with the healthcare team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience with at least 3 years in Labor and Delivery.
• Active California RN license.
• Current certifications: ACLS, NRP, and fetal assessment required.
• Experience with Epic preferred.
• Must be comfortable managing high-risk pregnancies, including MgSO4 infusions and other complications.
