Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Schedule This is a 13‑week contract position with a night shift schedule of 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00). Weekend coverage is required. Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will provide outstanding patient care to adults and geriatrics facing critical conditions, including those with neuro/stroke and cardiac issues. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for monitoring patient status, administering treatments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a PCU setting. Monitor and document patient vital signs and clinical status. Administer medications and follow prescribed treatment protocols. Utilize advanced skills in cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation. Manage high‑flow nasal cannula and BiPAP/CPAP therapies. Assist with post‑operative care for cardiology patients. Engage with families regarding patient care and health education. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a PCU or similar environment. Current RN license to practice in South Carolina. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Experience with EPIC charting system is preferred. Strong skills in managing cardiac drips and understanding heparin protocols.
