Lead Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)Tender Care Animal Hospital in Peoria, Illinois is seeking an experienced Lead Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team and provide dedicated support for surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures.This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who wants to fully utilize their skillset with autonomy, trust, and support in a fast-paced, collaborative general practice environment. From induction through recovery, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality patient care alongside a veterinary team that values skilled technicians.In this position, you will take an active role in:Coordinating surgical and dental procedure schedulesCalculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosagesInducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patientsAssisting veterinarians during surgical proceduresPerforming dental prophylaxis and dental radiographyMonitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural careGuiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassionResponsibilities include:Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflowsPerforming anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recoveryAssisting in surgeryPerforming dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiographyMaintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentationReviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionatelyIdentifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospitalBuilding strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive serviceSchedule and compensation:Compensation: $18 - $25 per hour, for each hour workedThis is a full-time position, with a 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday.
