Job Title

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / IMC / Stepdown)

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13 Weeks | Expected 3 twelve-hour shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Conduct bedside shift reports and actively include patients and family members in the plan of care
• Operate and monitor unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse oximetry, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners
• Perform and maintain skills including IV insertion, basic wound care, and management of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Participate in unit float rotation as applicable per contract labor policy; expected to float first when multiple contract staff are scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Expected to work 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior Med/Surg or PCU/Stepdown experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and neurological patient populations
