Civil Engineer (Design-Focused) – Hybrid Opportunity Compensation: $55,000 – $85,000 Location: Metro Detroit area (multiple office location options- Downtown Detroit, Birmingham, and Washington) Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in-office Interview Process: 1 virtual + 1 onsite Are you a Civil Engineer who enjoys design and wants to be part of a growing, high-performing team? This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly expanding engineering firm working on a diverse mix of municipal and private development projects. What You’ll Do Perform engineering analysis, design, and calculations for site development projects Design grading, drainage, and utility systems (water main, sanitary, storm, and fire protection) Complete hydrology and hydraulic calculations for piping and conveyance systems Prepare drawings, specifications, and technical reports Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (planners, architects, clients, and stakeholders) Support proposal development and cost estimates for smaller projects Provide construction support, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and occasional site visits Assist with permitting, zoning reviews, and regulatory compliance Participate in client meetings and present technical information as needed Mentor junior staff as you grow in your role What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited or equivalent experience) 3+ years of relevant civil/site design experience Proficiency in AutoCAD Strong interest in design and project ownership Preferred Experience Civil 3D Water and sanitary system design Hydraulic modeling tools (WaterCAD/WaterGEMS or similar) Exposure to municipal or land development projects Why Consider This Role Join a fast-growing team with strong project pipelines Work on impactful infrastructure and development projects Opportunities for mentorship and career advancementCollaborative, team-oriented environment #J-18808-Ljbffr The Planet Group
