Food Service Assistant Manager

Overview Position: Assistant Food Service Manager at Buc-ee's. Compensation: $37.00 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 3 weeks paid time off, and 401(k) with 100% match up to 6%. The role is suited for candidates with experience in high-volume, fast-paced restaurants who are enthusiastic, people-focused, and detail-oriented. The Assistant Food Service Manager assists with all aspects of operating the department with a commitment to the company’s three pillars: Clean, Friendly, and In Stock. A focus on customer service and employee development is essential, while maintaining the highest industry standards. Responsibilities Perform duties and responsibilities of the Food Service Manager in their absence or upon discretion. Manage the product offerings, including but not limited to jerky, smoked meats, sausage, BBQ, bakery, sandwiches, grab-and-go, tacos, burritos, hot dogs. Solve customer issues quickly in a friendly and professional manner. Understand and apply federal, state, and local laws related to foodservice and general employment matters. Ensure proper use of kitchen equipment and appliances, such as floor mixers, slicers, ovens, knives, and fryers. Manage food service employees, protect quality, and provide customer service. Assure accurate completion of various foodservice operating reports and ensure safety rules and regulations are followed. Interact professionally with team members and customers. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Requirements / Qualifications Restaurant, retail, or management experience preferred. Bachelor degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant food service experience preferred. Proficiency in food planning and preparation, sanitation, and food handling. Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Outlook) and experienced with various POS and transaction devices (kiosks, printers, tickets, touch screens). Acquire and maintain food service certifications. Ability to relocate if required. Ability to work weekends and holidays; rotating day/night schedule. Regular and prompt attendance; ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks (e.g., lifting 40 lbs or more, bending, climbing, reaching).
