Position Overview Kforce is working with a client that is seeking a Buyer in Saint Louis, MO. Summary: The client is looking for a procurement professional to support large‑scale capital projects. This role focuses on sourcing capital equipment and services, driving cost savings through strategic sourcing, and partnering closely with engineering, operations, and procurement stakeholders. Candidates must live in the Greater Saint Louis, Missouri (MO) and work a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite/week). Responsibilities Support capital projects across all phases of the Engineer‑Procure‑Construct (EPC) lifecycle, from planning through close‑out Develop and execute sourcing strategies to maximize value for capital equipment, materials, and services Lead bid preparation, analysis, and supplier evaluations; make recommendations on supplier selection and pricing agreements Negotiate and manage agreements for engineering services, equipment, and construction providers Partner with Engineering, Operations, Safety, and Purchasing teams to ensure alignment and execution Track spend and ensure compliance with strategic procurement programs Manage preferred suppliers, monitor performance, and track cost savings Support plant‑level purchasing teams as needed Participate in global sourcing initiatives and cross‑functional procurement programs Build and maintain expertise across assigned indirect materials and services categories Requirements Bachelor's degree required; Finance, Supply Chain, or related field preferred Hands‑on experience with industrial capital procurement (CapEx) required; this role is specific to industrial environments; retail or commercial procurement experience will not be considered Strong Procure‑to‑Pay experience, including SAP Advanced Excel skills; PowerPoint proficiency Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills Engineering or technical background is a plus Compensation The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skill, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law. This job is not eligible for bonuses, incentives or commissions.
