Job Summary:

Assists in the administration of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic surgical procedures. Manages instruments, supplies, and equipment to facilitate smooth operations and ensure patient safety throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare the operating room with sterile supplies, instruments, and medications needed for surgical procedures.
  
  
• 
  Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery, anticipating their needs.
  
  
• 
  Perform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before incision and prior to closure.
  
  
• 
  Maintain a sterile environment by draping patients and assisting in sterile field setup.
  
  
• 
  Assist in cleaning and sterilizing instruments post-procedure, supporting room turnover.
  
  
• 
  Verify surgical procedures with appropriate documentation and assist with patient preparation.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an associate degree or certification in Surgical Technology.
  
  
• 
  Possess recent relevant experience in an acute care setting.
  
  
• 
  Certified by the National Board of Surgical Technologists or the Association of Surgical Technologists.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical protocols, and patient safety.
