Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in the Med/Surg unit.
• Monitor patient progress and report any changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to enhance patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Participate in patient and family education as needed.

Shifts

This position requires a commitment to a 3x12 hour day shift schedule (06:30 AM - 06:00 PM). Weekend availability is critical, with a minimum of 3 weekends required within a 6-week period.

Call In Expectations

If a traveler calls in for a shift, they will be expected to pick up another shift to compensate for the missed shift.

Qualifications

• Active registered nurse license.
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg and Telemetry experience.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS.
• PALS certification is mandatory before starting, as pediatrics are admitted to the unit.
• Experience in ambulation services is preferred.

Floating Requirements

There may be a possibility of floating to different units based on hospital needs.

Additional Information

This position guarantees 36 hours per week with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5. Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius will be considered local travelers.

Scrub colors are flexible; however, a professional appearance is expected. Charting will be conducted using Meditech.
