WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical team. The ideal candidate is an organized, patient-focused professional with excellent clinical judgment who enjoys caring for diverse patient populations in a fast-paced environment. This nurse will work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide safe, evidence-based care while promoting positive patient outcomes. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for medical and surgical patients. Monitor patient conditions and promptly identify and communicate changes in clinical status. Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments safely and accurately. Care for patients recovering from surgery and those with acute or chronic medical conditions. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, procedures, and discharge planning. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Promote patient safety by following infection prevention practices, medication safety standards, and hospital policies. Respond appropriately to emergencies and changing patient conditions. Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges while ensuring continuity of care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development. Support a positive, collaborative work environment while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT Current, unrestricted Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) license. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required based on unit needs. Previous Medical-Surgical, Acute Care, or Hospital nursing experience preferred. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills. Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple patients in a dynamic healthcare environment. Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional patient care. Twelve-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, nights, and rotating schedules as needed. Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and repositioning patients throughout the shift. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and other healthcare-related hazards; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided. Ability to safely lift and reposition patients using proper body mechanics and patient handling equipment. Must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including a background check, drug screen, and any applicable health screenings.
