The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of structures to ensure they are safe, sustainable, and cost-effective. This includes buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure. The Structural Engineer will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver high-quality projects.ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Design and Analysis:Perform calculations to ensure structures can withstand various loads and forces and stamp our own drawingsAnalyze building materials for strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.Work with design engineers to produce standard designsProject Management:Be the single point of contact for all design engineers sending work out to multiple structural consultants. Manage the work load to structural consultants with quickest turnaround in mindParticipate in meetings with structural consultants to ensure that they have all necessary inputs and produce a high-quality stamped drawing Manage project timelines and budgets relative to structural analysisSupport questions coming from construction site related to structural analysisCompliance and Standards:Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.Problem Solving:Identify and resolve design and construction issues.Provide technical advice and support during construction phases.Documentation and Reporting:Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other documentation.Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.Coaching new engineers in making cost effective and easy to manufacture designsQualificationsQualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus. Experience: 7+ years of experience in structural engineering or related field. Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) licenseSkills: Proficiency in structural analysis software and other engineering design tools. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work. Abilities: Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. Sitting for extended periods of time. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Identify and understand the speech of another person.
