Job Summary The Surgical Technician is responsible for ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and establishing and maintaining a sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room. Responsibilities Setting up the instruments and equipment required for the procedure Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery Preparing the patient for surgery Passing the surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation Taking a count of all surgical sponges and sharps prior to the operation Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery Stocking rooms, picking supplies for cases, assisting with departmental daily tasks No Weekends / No Major Holidays / No Call Required Schedule: 10 hour shifts Education and/or Experience High School Diploma / GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program 1-2 years of operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties, including Ortho CST & BLS Certification Benefits USPI offers the following benefits, subject to employment status: Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Paid time off (vacation & sick leave) 401k retirement plan Paid holidays Health savings accounts, healthcare & dependent flexible spending accounts Employee Assistance Program, employee discount program Voluntary benefits include pet insurance, legal insurance, accident and critical illness insurance, long‑term care, elder & childcare, AD&D, auto & home insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr United Surgical Partners International
