About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 Years Minimum Required License: Valid Nursing License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have neuro experience. Must be able to titrate LEVO. Must have a teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. Must be able to adhere to the call-off policy, which is strongly enforced. EPIC experience is required. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly lead to cancellation. The unit will not accept first-time travelers. Local candidates are accepted with a rate difference. The patient population includes intermediate neurological and medical patients. The average daily census can reach up to 24 patients. The unit is geared towards the neurological patient population along with medical intermediate patients. The unit's staffing ratio is 1:4. Unit procedures include neuro stepdown care, cardiac monitoring, intravenous therapy, and gastrointestinal management. Additional skills required are managing blood products, respiratory care, and emergency response protocols. Must have knowledge in working with aneurysms, craniotomy, cerebrovascular accidents, and traumatic brain injuries. Candidates must be willing to float to other intermediate care areas as needed. Weekend shifts are required, with a minimum of three shifts every six weeks. Candidates must maintain a professional demeanor and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
