Job Description VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST Love animals? Great with people? Thrive when things get busy? We want to meet you! Your Hometown Vet is looking for a friendly, organized, dependable Veterinary Receptionist to join our team! Our receptionists are much more than the people who answer the phone. They are the first impression of our practice, the air-traffic controllers of the schedule, and an essential part of the veterinary team. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING • Greeting clients and their pets with a friendly, professional attitude • Answering phones and helping clients determine their next steps • Scheduling appointments and keeping the day running smoothly • Checking clients in and out and processing payments • Communicating with doctors, technicians, and assistants • Managing multiple priorities in a busy environment • Helping educate clients about appointments, preventative care, and follow-up visits • Keeping the reception area organized and welcoming ⭐ WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR You might be a great fit if you: • Genuinely enjoy working with people AND animals • Are friendly, confident, and comfortable communicating with clients • Can stay organized when the phone is ringing, clients are arriving, and three people need something at once • Are dependable and show up ready to work • Pay attention to details • Are comfortable with computers and learning new software • Work well as part of a team • Can handle difficult or emotional situations professionally • Take initiative instead of waiting to be told what needs to be done Veterinary or medical reception experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person. ❤️ WHAT WE VALUE We want someone who believes great veterinary care starts before the patient ever enters an exam room. Our ideal receptionist understands that kindness matters, communication matters, teamwork matters, and the little details matter. This is a busy veterinary practice, so some days will be hectic. You'll encounter excited puppies, nervous cats, worried owners, ringing phones, emergencies, and constantly changing priorities. If that sounds overwhelming, this probably isn't the position for you.
