Job Title: Material Handler Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Material Handler where you will play a vital role in the efficient flow of materials in our machine shop. This position is essential in supporting machine operators and painters by moving materials such as sheet metal and smaller objects manually, with larger items being handled by others using forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Move materials around the machine shop to support machine operators and painters.

• Handle sheet metal and smaller objects manually.

• Perform general labor tasks and move items by hand.

• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.

Essential Skills

• 1+ years of manual labor experience.

• Experience in warehouse or material handling.

• Ability to read a tape measure.

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.

• Willingness to work in hot environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with forklifts is preferred.

• Background in industrial settings is beneficial.

• Initiative and ability to work every day of the week.

• Experience in roofing, landscaping, or similar jobs in hot environments.

Work Environment

Our 600,000 sqft facility in Pasadena, TX, is a clean and organized space, primarily housing general and electrical assemblers, as well as warehouse staff. Though non-climate controlled, the facility is equipped with open bay doors and numerous fans to ensure a comfortable working environment. The fast-paced production shop requires steel-toe boots, jeans, work shirt, and safety glasses. The night shift operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, typically working 11-hour shifts, 5-6 days a week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
