IMU / Intermediate Care RN Travel Contract

Weekly Hours:
• 36 hrs/week (3x12s)

Shift:
• 12-hour shifts
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Must be on unit by 6:45 AM/PM

Unit Details:
• 30-Bed Intermediate Care Unit
• Typical Ratios: 1:4–1:5
• May occasionally reach 1:6

Required Certifications:
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

EMR:
• Sunrise

Patient Population:
• Chest Pain
• Rule-Out MI
• CHF
• Arrhythmias
• Post Pacemaker Patients
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath Patients
• Intermediate Care Telemetry Patients
• Tikosyn Therapy Patients

Required Skills:
• Telemetry interpretation
• Must read and interpret own strips
• Titration of:

• Amiodarone
• Cardizem
• Dopamine
• Dobutamine
• Labetalol
• Nitroglycerin
• Heparin
• Occasionally Lasix

Unit Support:
• Tele Techs available
• IV Team 24/7 (handles IV starts)
• RT available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• Hospitalist and Residents in-house 24/7
• Intensivist available 24/7

Schedule:
• Self-scheduling available
• 4 requested days off per month

Weekend Requirement:
• 4 weekend shifts every 4-week schedule
• Nights: 4 weekend night shifts
• Days: 4 weekend day shifts per schedule

Float Requirements:
• Telemetry and Med-Surg units as needed
• Ratios may reach 1:6–1:7 when floating

Support Staff:
• 2–3 CNAs per shift
• CNA Ratios: 1:10–12

Orientation:
• 2-day orientation with preceptor
• Travelers expected to work independently after orientation

Dress Code:
• Navy Blue Scrubs
