Inventory Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst to support accurate inventory management across our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for analyzing inventory data, identifying and resolving discrepancies, maintaining inventory accuracy, and partnering with Materials, Purchasing, Production, Warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure materials are available when needed.

You will be accountable for:

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP/MRP system.
• Analyze inventory levels, usage, transactions, and trends to identify discrepancies and potential issues.
• Perform and coordinate cycle counts and physical inventory audit.
• Research inventory variances and determine root causes of discrepancies.
• Reconcile physical inventory to system records and process approved inventory adjustments.
• Monitor inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and adjustments.
• Identify slow-moving, excess, obsolete, and potentially short inventory.
• Work with Purchasing and Materials teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Partner with Production and Warehouse teams to resolve material shortages, location discrepancies, and transaction errors.
• Review and investigate negative inventory, unusual transactions, and system variances.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations, part information, and inventory status.
• Assist with annual physical inventory activities and periodic audits.
• Develop and maintain inventory reports, metrics, and dashboards.
• Analyze inventory trends and recommend opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with ERP/MRP data cleanup and process improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within Supply Chain and Materials Management.
• Ensure inventory procedures are followed consistently and recommend improvements when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

You are the right person for this job if you have:

• 3+ years of experience in inventory control, inventory analysis, materials management, supply chain, or a related field.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of inventory control principles and practices.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management transactions.
• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas, filters, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated ability to research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of an organization.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with cycle counting programs and inventory audits.
• Experience analyzing inventory accuracy and root-cause trends.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Physical requirements:

• Ability to work in an office and manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• Ability to walk throughout the facility and access inventory locations as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and occasionally lift or move materials as required.
• Ability to safely navigate an active manufacturing environment while following all safety requirements.

Qualifications

Preferred: Associate Degree or better in Supply Chain Management or related field.

Bachelors or better in Supply Chain Management or related field.

Required: 3-5 years: Cycle counting, Inventory audits, Inventory control.
