Austin, United States | Posted on 07/22/2026 The client requiresa Project Manager III under the FAST contract to provide senior-levelproject management support for complex, enterprise-level initiatives. The resourcewill be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating projectactivities, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder managementacross cross-functional teams. This role ensures successful delivery ofprojects by maintaining alignment with DPS objectives, governance standards,and established project management methodologies. Develop andmaintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget,resources, risk, and communication components. Defineproject objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria incollaboration with stakeholders. Coordinatecross-functional teams, vendors, and business units to ensure alignment andexecution of project activities. Monitorproject performance, track progress against milestones, and ensure timelyescalation and resolution of issues and risks. Facilitatestakeholder engagement, meetings, and status reporting to ensure clearcommunication and transparency. Manageproject scope changes through formal change control processes and ensuregovernance compliance. Overseevendor performance and deliverables when external contractors are involved. Ensureadherence to DPS policies, state procurement requirements, and FAST contractguidelines. Supportproject documentation, reporting, and administrative requirements throughoutthe project lifecycle. Driveproject closure activities, including final reporting, deliverable acceptance,and lessons learned documentation. II. CANDIDATESKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS MinimumRequirements: 8 Required Experience managing large-scale, complex IT or businesstransformation projects in a structured environment 8 Required Strong knowledge of project management methodologies(e.g., PMI/PMBOK, Agile, Hybrid) 8 Required Experience developing and maintaining project schedules,budgets, and resource plans 8 Required Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders acrosstechnical and business units 8 Required Experience with risk management, issue tracking, andchange control processes 8 Required Strong written and verbal communication skills, includingexecutive-level reporting 8 Required Experience using project management tools (e.g., MSProject, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar) 8 Required Ability to ensure compliance with organizational governance,policies, and procurement requirements 1 Preferred Experience working in public sector or state governmentenvironments, preferably within public safety or law enforcement agencies 1 Preferred Experience managing projects under state procurement frameworks(e.g., FAST, DIR, or similar contracts) 1 Preferred PMP (Project Management Professional) certification orequivalent 1 Preferred Experience managing IT system implementations, datasystems, or enterprise applications TERMS OFSERVICE Services areexpected to start 09/01/2026 and are expected to complete by 09/01/2027 .Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 2000 hours. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing bothparties agree to do so in writing. WORKHOURS AND LOCATION Services shallbe provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated throughthe Texas Department of Public Safety . Normal business hoursare Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM , excludingState holidays when the agency is closed. The primary work location(s) will be at 5805 North Lamar Blvd, Austin,TX 78752 . The working position is Hybrid - On Site andTelework . Any and all travel, per diem, parking, and/or livingexpenses shall be at the Candidate's and/or Vendor's expense. TexasDepartment of Public Safety will provide pre-approved, writtenauthorization for travel for any services to be performed away from the primarywork location(s). Pre-approved travel expenses are limited to the rates andcomply with the rules prescribed by the State of Texas for travel by itsclassified employees, including any requirement for original receipts. The Candidate(s) may be required to work outside the normal business hours onweekends, evenings and holidays, as requested.
