About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Not required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Dysrhythmia exam passed within two attempts - IABP experience - CRRT experience - Fresh OHS from the OR experience Description: Unit requires a minimum of two years of experience in CVICU. Clinicians must have their own vehicles and cannot have the same schedule if traveling as a duo. If a clinician fails to score 80% on the dysrhythmia exam within two attempts, they will be disqualified from future contracts for six months. Candidates must not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility within the past year. The unit has 12 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 based on patient acuity. RNs will be required to titrate drips. Common titratable drips include Dex, Propofol, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Levo, Insulin, and Cardene. There are no nurse aids on this unit. Intensivists and RT are available in the ICU 24/7. Equipment includes vents, BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and HiFlow. In-room monitoring is available, and RNs are responsible for reading strips. The position requires working two weekend shifts per pay period, with shifts assigned based on unit needs. Holiday work is required. There is a maximum of three standby shifts per 12 weeks. Floating to ICU/PCU/MS/Tele may be required based on department needs. Experience with Impella and Cerner is desired.
