Maintenance Supervisor – Job Overview Overview There is a newly created Maintenance Supervisor role at a growing manufacturing site in Lebanon, KY. The selected candidate is accountable for maintaining the integrity, reliability, and basic operating condition of all plant assets to ensure safe, compliant, and uninterrupted operation. The role maximizes equipment uptime by increasing mean time between failures while minimizing mean time to repair through effective preventive and corrective maintenance strategies. Using performance data and reliability insights, the supervisor drives disciplined maintenance execution and continuous improvement to support stable operations and long‑term asset performance. The role supervises 2 people and reports to the Site Leader. Benefits Medical benefits 5% bonus potential 100% match on the 401(k) to 5%; discretionary additional up to 5% may be provided Key Tasks Maintenance Ensure maintenance plan meets legal, compliance and output requirements and protects assets. Triage helpdesk requests and assign resources to complete reactive maintenance timely, reducing production impact. Actively diagnose faults and resolve them to minimize recurrence. Follow Management of Change process for robust temporary and permanent solutions. Devise and monitor processes for adherence to the maintenance plan and report performance monthly. Plan maintenance activities, ensuring adequate resources, permits to work, and risk assessments. Participate in plant maintenance as needed to guarantee safe and efficient equipment operation. Maintain safety and environmental standards, responding quickly to breakdowns and implementing asset care and condition‑based monitoring. For scheduled shutdowns, plan resources (parts and labor), review post‑shutdown activities, document findings, and share best practices with other sites. Define and maintain appropriate spare part levels, engage in FMECA studies, and regularly assess spare parts for suitability. Keep maintenance logs and downtime reporting to enable timely, accurate data collection and data‑led decisions. Ensure completion of all PPMs by technicians and analyze equipment failures to identify trends. Develop service level agreements (SLAs) with the Site Leader and regularly assess and revise supplier/service contract performance. Work with Site Leader and Accounting to manage spend against budget. Develop a long‑range service plan aligned with distillery shutdowns and provide accurate budgeting. Manage the site inventory system to align stock with consumption of critical spares and feedback to finance. Compliance: Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Lead by example, promoting a culture of safe practices and ensuring compliance with all legal and internal requirements. Support the Site Leader in implementing company‑wide safety recommendations and foster a ‘Don’t Walk By’ and ‘Work Safe/Home Safe’ culture. Document and maintain SOPs and risk assessments for key tasks, auditing to ensure adherence. Encourage reporting of unsafe acts and conditions by all personnel and visitors. Ensure completion of safety and environmental pre‑startup tasks. Plan and manage contractors to ensure adherence to safe systems of work. Assist with third‑party audits as required. People Leadership & Development Plan and schedule appropriate manpower for 24/7/365 site operation. Ensure the maintenance team is trained and competent for their tasks. Identify and complete required training and development, maintaining training records. Develop and implement a training plan for new maintenance technicians and assist with their onboarding. Provide necessary resources to the maintenance team for safe completion of roles. Lead and manage direct reports, ensuring development plans are in place and completed per company process. Recognize and reward good or exceptional performance and act on improvement plans where needed. Lead team meetings to convey requirements and site performance. Continuous Improvement Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes within areas of responsibility. Other Competent in operating the plant and able to operate it during abnormal/emergency situations. Complete training shifts as needed to maintain competency.
