Electrical DesignerEnterprise Electrical is seeking an Electrical Designer to support the planning, development, and preparation of electrical system designs, construction drawings, and technical documentation for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical electrical construction projects. This entry-level professional design role applies specialized technical knowledge, electrical design principles, and developing professional judgment to assist in creating accurate, code-compliant, and constructible electrical design solutions that support project execution and operational objectives.Working under the guidance of senior design, engineering, and project leadership, the Electrical Designer I participates in the design of power distribution systems, lighting systems, grounding systems, raceway layouts, equipment arrangements, and related electrical infrastructure. This position supports project coordination, technical analysis, BIM/VDC collaboration, and design documentation while building independent design capabilities and a deeper understanding of electrical construction practices.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development and preparation of electrical system designs, drawings, and technical documentation for construction projects.Participate in the design of power distribution, lighting, grounding, and electrical equipment layouts under professional supervision.Prepare and revise electrical drawings, models, and project documentation using approved design standards and technical requirements.Interpret project specifications, customer requirements, and design criteria to support the development of constructible electrical solutions.Apply developing knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and electrical design principles during drawing preparation and project documentation.Participate in BIM/VDC coordination activities to support project integration and constructability.Review drawings, specifications, and design documents to identify inconsistencies, omissions, and technical conflicts.Assist with coordination efforts and support resolution of design-related issues.Provide technical clarification and interpretation of design information to project teams and field personnel when assigned.Participate in design meetings, project coordination sessions, and technical reviews.Maintain organized design files, drawing revisions, and document control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.Apply company drafting standards, design practices, and quality control procedures to assigned work.Support continuous improvement through awareness of evolving design technologies, electrical systems, and construction practices.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.Required QualificationsEducationAssociate degree or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Design, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related technical field preferred.Equivalent combinations of technical education, industry training, and relevant experience may be considered.Experience1-3 years of electrical design, BIM, VDC, engineering support, or related electrical construction experience preferred.Experience supporting commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction projects preferred.Experience utilizing Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design software platforms preferred.Exposure to electrical system layouts, design documentation, and project coordination activities preferred.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesFoundational knowledge of electrical systems, electrical construction methods, and electrical design principles.Working knowledge of NEC fundamentals and applicable electrical codes and standards.Understanding of electrical symbols, schematics, one-line diagrams, and construction documentation practices.Developing proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and related design technologies.Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, and technical documents.Understanding of BIM/VDC coordination concepts and model-based project workflows.Ability to evaluate design information and identify constructability or coordination concerns.Strong attention to detail, technical accuracy, and document quality.Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, VDC, project management, and field operations personnel.Ability to exercise sound professional judgment while following established design standards and project requirements.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard business applications.Preferred QualificationsAutodesk Revit Certification.Autodesk AutoCAD Certification.BIM or VDC-related certifications.OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or similar document management platforms.Additional exposure to commercial, industrial, and mission-critical electrical construction environments.Valid driver's license based on business and project requirements.Leadership & Team CollaborationCollaborate with senior designers, engineers, project managers, VDC personnel, and field operations teams.Participate in project coordination meetings and technical reviews.Support communication between design teams, construction personnel, and operational stakeholders.Contribute to design coordination, technical support, and project execution activities.Maintain effective working relationships across departments and project teams.This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentPrimarily works in a professional office, engineering, design, or hybrid work environment.Extensive use of computers, design software, and workstation equipment.Frequent collaboration with design professionals, project teams, and operational personnel.Periodic travel to construction sites, fabrication facilities, and customer locations may be required.Field visits may involve exposure to noise, dust, varying weather conditions, elevated work areas, and active construction environments.Compliance with all company safety procedures and PPE requirements is required during site visits.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting and computer workstation use.Frequent use of hands and fingers
