$61k - $70kColorado Cattlemen's Agricultural Land Trust-
Job Description
Job Description
Grants Manager
Help conserve Colorado's working lands while building the systems that make conservation possible.
About us:
At the Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust (CCALT), we are a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to serving agricultural landowners and conserving Colorado’s western heritage and working landscapes for the benefit of all Coloradans. We believe these lands are more than beautiful landscapes. They are family-run businesses, sources of food and fiber, vital wildlife habitat, and an essential part of Colorado's heritage.
Since 1995, we've partnered with landowners across the state to conserve more than 850,000 acres of farmland, ranchland, open space, and wildlife habitat through voluntary conservation easements. Everything we do is rooted in serving the families, producers, and communities who make Colorado agriculture possible.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
At CCALT, grants are more than funding opportunities. They provide resources that help agricultural landowners conserve their land, sustain their livelihoods, and keep working lands in working hands.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who enjoys writing strong proposals, organizing information, improving processes, and building systems that can help CCALT deliver upon its mission and serve Colorado’s farm and ranch families more effectively. The grants you secure and the information you steward will directly support our landowners, conservation work, and have a long-term impact on the future of Colorado and its natural resources.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to think and act strategically, take ownership, improve how we work, introduce new ideas, and see the results of your efforts firsthand. Additionally, you will play a key role in helping to conserve some of Colorado’s most iconic places.
What You’ll Do :
You will lead grant procurement and administration, play a key role in developing CCALT’s strategies around grants, and provide critical support and management of CCALT’s donor data and the systems that support that data.
- Grants Procurement and Administration :
- Assist leadership in the development and implementation of strategies related to grants.
- Research and identify grant funding opportunities that align with CCALT's mission and strategic priorities.
- Prepare, write, and submit competitive grant proposals.
- Manage the grant lifecycle from application through reporting and compliance.
- Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and budgets.
- Work closely with leadership and program staff to develop compelling funding requests and measure project outcomes.
- Assist leadership in the development and implementation of strategies related to grants.
- Data & Information Management :
- Serve as the primary administrator for the fundraising elements of our Salesforce system.
- Maintain accurate and complete records for partners, donors, and other key stakeholders.
- Work closely with the data management lead on the conservation team to ensure alignment with conservation-related data management in the Salesforce system.
- Ensure data integrity by establishing consistent processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support staff by providing training, troubleshooting, and guidance on Salesforce and related systems.
- Organizational Support :
- Help improve organizational processes through technology, automation, and AI tools.
- Coordinate with outside technology vendors and consultants as needed.
- Assist with developing reports for the board, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to special projects that strengthen CCALT's operations and long-term impact.
What We’re Looking For:
We're looking for someone who:
- Experience procuring and administering grants (both federal and non-federal grants).
- Enjoys writing and communicating clearly.
- Takes pride in keeping information accurate, organized, and accessible.
- Likes improving systems and finding more efficient ways to work.
- Can balance multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Enjoys collaborating with a small, dedicated team where everyone contributes to the mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in grant writing, grant administration, nonprofit development, database management, or a related field.
- Experience using Salesforce.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Must be able to pass a standard background check.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Position Details:
- Title : Grants Manager
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- FLSA Status : Exempt
- Reports to : Director of External Relations
- Location : Lakewood Office - Hybrid (3 days a week in office)
- Anticipated Start Date: Tuesday, October 6, 2026 (flexible with the chosen candidate's schedule)
- Compensation: $61,000-$70,000 – based on experience
- Benefits :
- Flexible work schedule with a hybrid work environment that supports work-life balance.
- Eligible to participate in CCALT's annual incentive pay program (bonus), subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
- Medical and accident insurance with 100% of the employee-only premium paid by CCALT.
- Dental insurance with 40% of the employee-only premium paid by CCALT.
- Vision insurance available, with 100% of the premium paid by the employee.
- Retirement plan with eligibility to participate in the company's 403(b) upon hire and employer matching (currently up to 4%) after one year of service.
- Three weeks (15 days) of paid vacation during the first year, increasing after one year of tenure to a maximum of five weeks (25 days).
- Up to ten (10) paid sick days per year.
- Sixteen (16) paid holidays annually, including week-long office closures around the Fourth of July and Thanksgiving holidays.
Why Join CCALT?
At CCALT, you'll be part of a team that cares deeply about Colorado agriculture, its natural resources, and its people and communities. We know that conserving working lands starts with building strong relationships, and every member of our team plays a role in supporting our landowners and advancing our mission.
We believe the best ideas can come from anyone. Whether it's improving a process, implementing a new technology, or creating a better way to serve our landowners and partners, you'll have the opportunity to bring ideas to the table, take ownership of projects, and see your ideas become reality.
While much of this role is office-based, you'll also have opportunities to get out into the field, visit properties, and meet the agricultural families we serve and see firsthand how your work contributes to protecting Colorado's working lands and iconic landscapes. Seeing the landscapes you've helped protect and hearing directly from the families we serve is one of the most rewarding parts of working at CCALT.
How to Apply:
If you're excited by the opportunity to combine grant writing, data stewardship, and meaningful conservation work, we'd love to hear from you. Join us in helping Colorado's agricultural landowners conserve the farms and ranches that sustain our communities today and for generations to come.
We recognize that strong candidates bring a range of experiences. If you are excited about this role but do not meet every listed qualification, we encourage you to apply.
Interested candidates should upload a cover letter and resume to the job posting link below by 5:00 pm Mountain Time on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026 .
