Registered Nurse- Premium Pay/Full Time, Float, Nights

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides care and education for the patient based on their illness, symptoms, and courses of treatment. This position manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

This is a Full Time Float Pool position. It is a premium pay position that requires floating to Baptist Pensacola, Gulf Breeze Hospital, Jay Hospital, Outpatient Clinics and our Free-Standing Emergency Departments (as qualified). Must be qualified to float in two or more areas of practice. We are hiring for day and night shift.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
• Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic plan of care for each patient, in collaboration with each patient/significant other in order to address all identified needs.
• Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
• Evaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient's responses are reassessed to meet patient and family needs and assure overall quality of care delivered.
• Maintains up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, to ensure quality care.
• Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the department as defined in the scope of service, to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed. Develops the skills and judgment necessary to implement plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures, teaching of and communication with patient and support person.
• Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit to facilitate the department's unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
• Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.
• Assists in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
• May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
• Float throughout Baptist Heath Care System (Baptist Hospital, Gulf Breeze Hospital, Jay Hospital, the Free-Standing Emergency Departments, Clinics, or any other assigned location) in one or more areas of practice as required.

Qualifications

Education

• Nursing Degree-Associates or Technical Degree Required upon hire
• Nursing Degree-Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse License in the state of FL (or Compact License) Required upon Hire
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association only) Required upon Hire
• ACLS Provider (American Heart Association only) Required upon Hire
• PALS Provider (American Heart Association only) Required within 90 days of hire
• Non-Violent crisis intervention (CPI) Required within 90 days of hire
• Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum Required within 2 years of hire

Experience

• 2 or more years of RN experience Required
