Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a 29-bed adult PCU/Stepdown unit, requiring ACLS, BLS, and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 29-bed adult stepdown/progressive care unit (PCU)
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available
• Every other weekend requirement
• Mandatory floating to ICU and MS cluster units (ICU floats considered based on patient acuity)
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required (no pending licenses)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, isolation precautions/PPE, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for adult stepdown/PCU patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Role involves routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
• Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year, including during inclement weather
• Holiday coverage required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those 51-74 miles are offered a local rate
• Local candidates are not eligible for extensions beyond the initial contract
• Maximum RTO of 10 days permitted, with none allowed during the first week due to orientation
