Details Medical Surgical unit with Remote Telemetry capabilities 33-bed unit with an average daily census of 28 and a patient ratio of 1:5-6 Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses including diabetes, post-op recovery, wound vacs, and bariatrics Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed On-call requirements include every other weekend and holidays as needed, with relief charge duties Uses Epic EMR, Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems Requirements Active GA or Compact RN license required BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required First-time travelers accepted Epic charting experience required Charge nurse experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and PICC line management Experience with chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation Experience with wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocols Experience with PCA medications and pre/post hemodialysis management Cardiac monitoring and remote telemetry experience Experience with rapid response/code team protocols Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit with telemetry monitoring capabilities Navy blue scrubs required Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission No RTO can be requested during orientation week Holiday coverage required: if one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays occur, one holiday RTO request may be considered Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day Compliance items must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing to avoid start date delays Local candidates accepted at the same rate Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler Returning travelers who canceled or were not asked back must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying American Traveler Job ID P-744730.
