Physical Therapy - Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Advance your rehabilitation career as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week assignment working Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts, with flexible scheduling as long as hours remain consistent and are coordinated with the Director of Rehabilitation. The PTA will provide rehabilitative treatment services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, helping patients improve mobility, strength, function, and overall quality of life. This position focuses on long-term care and rehabilitation populations and requires strong communication and teamwork skills.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
• LTC or Rehab experience required
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant License required
• BLS Certification required
• New graduates considered with Level II clinical experience (Level I observation only not accepted)
• Strong communication and documentation skills required
• Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Resume required at submission
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year required
• 0-1 professional reference required at submission

Responsibilities include administering rehabilitative treatment plans under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, therapeutic exercises, gait and ambulation training, mobility and transfer training, strengthening and conditioning activities, manual therapy techniques, use of supportive and assistive devices, patient and caregiver education, documenting treatment interventions and patient progress, communicating treatment outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist, participating in patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings, assisting with discharge planning, obtaining necessary DME and rehabilitation supplies, supervising students as appropriate, and maintaining compliance with APTA standards, state regulations, and facility policies.
