Part-Time Direct Support Professional Home and Community Based - Otsego Region

Position Summary Work in a home- and community‑based setting to support a person with intellectual or developmental disability. You will foster relationships, facilitate independence, and help the individual achieve their personal goals and aspirations. Salary and Benefits $17 per hour for respite care; $18 per hour for community habilitation. Eligible for a prorated sign‑on bonus. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a positive role model for the person(s) supported in all situations and settings. Advocate on behalf of the person(s) in all situations and settings. Arrive on time and maintain reliable attendance. Collaborate with the person(s) to assess strengths and opportunities, and help develop personal goals and plans. Encourage and support the person(s) in making choices about goals, activities, and lifestyle. Assist with personal care tasks such as showering and restroom use, including supervising when needed. Help the person(s) find meaningful and enjoyable ways to spend their time, including participation in spiritual, recreational, and family activities. Follow written plans, learning materials, and goals. Complete required billing documentation for supports and services provided. Maintain all necessary training, certifications, and knowledge of policies and procedures. Participate in team meetings and 1:1 meetings with supervisor. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferred experience working with people with developmental disabilities. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and the ability to learn other software as needed. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently and assist in lifts exceeding 50 lbs. Valid driver’s license and meet requirements to drive company vehicles.
