Quality Compliance Specialist The Quality Compliance Specialist ensures that site processes and products comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality standards and requirements. This role upgrades and implements the Quality Management System, leads internal and external audit activities, manages compliance and quality improvement projects, and supports the quality assurance team in meeting customer demands and maintaining market leadership in automotive coatings. Responsibilities: Ensure site processes and products comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality standards and requirements. Upgrade and implement the Quality Management System by drafting new procedures, revising existing SOPs, and training employees to adopt new system requirements. Assist other departments in updating their SOPs to align with quality and compliance standards. Maintain and organize the internal quality audit program and coordinate external audits with customers and third-party certification and regulatory bodies. Schedule internal audits and audits with the registrar, ensuring timely and thorough completion. Schedule, conduct, or manage sample audits as required. Report on audit findings and assist in developing, implementing, and tracking corrective actions. Train internal auditors on the organization's quality systems and audit requirements. Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans, ensuring effective resolution and prevention of issues. Complete self-assessment and audit surveys requested by customers. Assist with customer-requested audits and special audits at the responsible site. Support other corporate and plant audits when requested. Manage compliance projects at the responsible site with support from other team members or groups. Manage calibration activities and records to ensure measurement equipment accuracy. Manage the document control system to maintain current, accurate, and accessible quality documentation. Manage, conduct, or assist with Measurement System Analysis (MSA) evaluations on inspection methods. Participate in Quality Improvement Teams as a representative of the Quality department. Provide QA training for new hires and associate QA specialists. Prepare and deliver monthly reports on audit findings and corrective actions. Essential Skills: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. 2+ years of audit experience in chemicals or 1 year of chemical regulatory experience. Hands-on experience with CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions). Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems. Ability to conduct and manage internal and supplier audits. Experience with calibration activities and GR&R (Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility). Ability to maintain and improve quality management systems across multiple sites. Strong skills in organizing, documenting, and reporting audit activities and findings. Ability to train internal auditors, new hires, and associate QA specialists on quality systems and procedures. Strong collaboration skills for building effective customer, supplier, and interdepartmental relationships. Additional Skills & Qualifications: ISO 9001 experience is considered a plus where not already required. Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus. Experience with IATF 16949 quality standard is highly beneficial. Experience managing document control systems and compliance projects. Ability to participate effectively in cross-functional Quality Improvement Teams. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Munster, IN. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
