The Body Shop PainterThe Body Shop Painter refinishes body parts, primed and prepped vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership quality specifications and time standards.Job Responsibilities:Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safelyRemoves rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surfaceMasks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coatedFills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surfaceMixes paint according to specificationsSelects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired colorPaints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriateInspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areasMaintains tools and keep equipment clean and in a proper state of repairKeeps work area cleanMaintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in a manner recommended by the equipment manufacturerComplies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materialsReports any deviations to managementCooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehiclesUnderstands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal (OSHA)Communicates and adheres to Injury Prevention (IP) standardsRequirements:At least 2-3 years of experience in the Automotive industryExcellent communication skillsMaintain a clean, safe team oriented environmentSelf-starter and work without supervisionPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions:Repair is mostly performed indoors where noise from hammers and air tools is prevalent.
