The Stockton Animal Shelter needs a talented and energetic vet! Work with our non-profit to provide excellent medical care to one of the busiest shelters in California. Work three to four shifts a week and earn 150K-200K a year. Join our incredible team of dedicated people making a difference for the community’s most vulnerable animals. With no required public interaction and hard closing times this position offers relief from some of the major stressors of private practice. The shelter team performs a variety of surgeries beyond spays and neuters that present a great opportunity to gain skill at any current level. We treat a variety of infectious diseases, traumas, and mystery cases from all over the San Joaquin Valley. Shelter Medicine isn’t right for everyone but keep an open mind and contact us to discuss how you can help. 

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution. 
• Current and valid veterinary license in California. 
• Commitment to animal welfare and a compassionate approach to veterinary care. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience working in an animal shelter or rescue organization. 
• Additional certifications or training in shelter medicine or public health.
