Senior Site Reliability Engineer

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team, and help maintain the reliability and optimal performance of our products. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGWork with your team to master a variety of production technology stacksTake responsibility for site performance, uptime and scalability Develop and maintain accurate monitoring dashboards, alerting and runbook documentation suited to each productIdentify technical problems and develop solutionsPartner with application engineering teams to understand product needs, and help deliver scalable solutions for our customersBuild and propose architecture changes that will make our products more scalable and reliableDevelop tooling for deployment and release processesWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORBachelor's or advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline6+ years of professional hands-on software engineering or site reliability experienceExperience with at least one object oriented programming language like Java, C++, CExperience with at least one scripting language like Python, Bash, PerlPublic cloud provider experience (AWS or GCP is a plus)Experience with containerized cloud solutions utilizing Docker and KubernetesExperience with common service technologies like web servers, message queues, load balancers, and databasesFluency in observability tools and methodologiesFlexibility to work with a variety of technologies and legacy systems, balanced against a passion to streamline and modernizeSkill at troubleshooting problems across the stack, providing both immediate fixes as well as long term solutionsFlexibility about work hours and being on callStrong communication and time management skillsABOUT IXL LEARNINGIXL Learning is the country's largest EdTech company.
