Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Senior Water and Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Water and Wastewater Infrastructure team in Washington. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can provide technical leadership across a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. As a key technical resource, you'll collaborate with project teams, mentor developing engineers, and help deliver practical, code-compliant solutions for clients and communities. What You'll Do As a Senior Water and Wastewater Engineer , you'll provide senior technical leadership across project design, quality review, team coordination, mentorship, and client support. Lead technical design and problem-solving : Serve as a senior technical resource on water and wastewater projects involving process systems, collection and distribution systems, conveyance infrastructure, pump and lift stations, and treatment facilities. Strengthen project quality : Provide QA/QC and technical review of designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications while developing practical, efficient, and code-compliant solutions. Coordinate across teams and stakeholders : Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory partners to support constructable, cost-effective, and well-aligned project outcomes. Mentor and develop engineers : Guide junior and mid-level engineers through technical development, professional growth, and project execution. Qualifications Education : BS or MS in Civil, Environmental, or a related engineering field. Experience : 10+ years of relevant water/wastewater engineering experience. Mentorship : Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior engineers. Technical background : Broad experience across water and wastewater systems, including process systems, pump and lift stations, pipelines, treatment facilities, and regulatory requirements. Certifications or licenses : Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington or ability to obtain within 6 months. Travel : Willing to travel to project sites, client meetings, and Kennedy Jenks offices. Kennedy Jenks supports a healthy work-life balance and utilizes a hybrid model of home and office work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. Salary range for this position is expected to be between $160,000 and $210,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, and geographic location.
