Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description

This role operates stamping and related production machinery to manufacture high-quality metal components for automotive and other industrial applications. You will set up, run, and monitor machines, perform precise measurements, and ensure products meet specifications while working in a clean, well-lit, and safety-focused manufacturing environment.

• Operate stamping machines that produce metal parts according to work orders and production schedules.
• Set up machines, including changeovers, to meet job specifications and ensure efficient production.
• Attend the press and related equipment at all times during operation to ensure safe and consistent performance.
• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools to inspect parts and verify dimensional accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and prints to determine job requirements and quality standards.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection of parts and components, documenting results as required.
• Report labor times and part counts accurately to the appropriate work orders and production records.
• Communicate clearly with the Production Supervisor via intranet, email, telephone, or in-person conversations regarding production status, issues, and needs.
• Coordinate material needs and part flow with the Material Handler to maintain continuous production.
• Identify, report, and help resolve miss-hits, defects, and machine problems to the Production Supervisor.
• Troubleshoot machine issues or malfunctions and take appropriate action to correct or escalate them.
• Perform machine set up and changeover activities, including tooling adjustments and basic maintenance as needed.
• Operate additional equipment such as press brakes, punch presses, lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, shears, and injection molding machines as required.
• Use hand tools and power tools for fabrication, deburring, assembly, and general labor tasks.
• Support general assembly and production activities to meet customer and quality requirements.
• Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions in a manufacturing environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the facility.

• At least 2+ years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency operating stamping machines and related metal forming equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, prints, and written instructions.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures for precise measurement and inspection.
• Demonstrated ability to perform part inspection and use inspection tools to verify quality.
• Capability to set up machines, including changeovers and basic machine adjustments.
• Troubleshooting skills to identify and address machine issues and production problems.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with production processes and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily job duties.
• Strong communication skills to interact with supervisors, material handlers, and team members.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with production targets.
• Basic computer or intranet skills for reporting labor times, part counts, and communicating electronically.

• Experience operating stamping presses, press brakes, punch presses, and other metal forming machinery.
• Background using hand tools and power tools for fabrication, deburring, and assembly.
• Exposure to injection molding machines and general assembly operations.
• Familiarity with lathe, mill, drill press, saw operation, and shear equipment.
• Experience with machine set up, machine changeovers, and production start-up processes.
• Knowledge of working with automotive components such as window and door parts, steering column parts, and safety-critical seat parts.
• Understanding of quality standards and inspection practices in an IATF 16949certified or similar quality-managed environment.
• Comfort performing general labor tasks in support of production and fabrication.
• Interest in ongoing skills development and training in advanced manufacturing technologies.

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that has been in its current location for several years and is described as very clean, well lit, and well maintained. You work primarily with metal forming and stamping equipment, including stamping presses, press brakes, punch presses, lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, shears, and injection molding machines, as well as hand tools and power tools for fabrication, deburring, and assembly. Shifts typically run from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or from 4:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with two paid 15-minute breaks each shift. The environment is production-focused and mechanically oriented, with an emphasis on safety, precision, and adherence to quality standards. You will work in a facility that supports major automotive manufacturers and a diverse customer base, with a modern onsite café and outdoor space for breaks. Uniforms are provided, and the workplace combines structured processes and systems with a friendly, family-style culture where employees interact closely with leadership and colleagues.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley City, OH.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Valley City,OH.
