Certified Pharmacy Tech - Travel Job

We're hiring an experienced pharmacy technician for a contract job in Salem, MA at a hospital setting where your expertise will directly support pharmacists in delivering exceptional care. In this position, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive the medications they need by assembling, stocking, and distributing them with precision and care. This role includes responsibilities in an inpatient hospital pharmacy, including filling automated dispensing cabinets, preparing non-sterile and sterile medications, and supporting medication distribution workflows. Minimum Requirements:

  • Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician registration required.
  • National Pharmacy Technician certification required (CPhT or ExCPT).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of hospital-related pharmacy experience required.
  • Experience with Epic and Omnicell preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow state and federal controlled substance regulations.
  • Ability to perform intermediate pharmaceutical calculations and prepare medications accurately, including sterile IV compounds.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal pharmacy technician training program or certification from an accredited program preferred.
  • Experience with pharmacy automation, robotics, and related software systems preferred.

Assignment Details

  • Shift hours: 06:00 - 14:30.
  • Rotating shifts required.
  • Unit: Inpatient Hospital Pharmacy.

Impacting Patient Care

Your work will support inpatient medication safety, timely medication administration, and pharmacy operational efficiency. You will collaborate with pharmacists and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure accurate medication preparation, secure handling of controlled substances, and continuous improvement of pharmacy systems and processes.
