Optical Engineer III

Job Responsibilities:

• Optical Engineer with a strong emphasis on time in the lab.
• Preference for 5+ years of experience. Hands on focus with strengths in optical systems, validation, and qualification with experience in prototype or product mechanical and electrical bring up, qualification and calibration.

Skills:

• Optical systems experience.
• Validation qualification of optics.
• Associated camera experience.
• Prototype experience.
• Research experience.
• CAD experience.

Education/Experience:

• Knowledge of optical design tools such as ZEMAX, FRED or ASAP.
• Experience in applied research and/or product development of optics or photonic systems.
• Experience with one or more of the following optics technologies: illumination, radiometry/photometry, stray light analysis, physical optics, or imaging.
• Advanced degree in the field of Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with system debug, root cause analysis.
• Support platforms bring up, qualification and calibration of test platforms to support the eye tracking novel architectures team.
• Component level testing and qualification, knowledge of optical systems and lab tools such as spectrophotometer, haze guard.
• System brings up experience with assembly, electrical debug and FW bring up and calibration.
• Willingness to learn additional skills and self-directed is a must.
• Documentation and communication skills is a must in a highly cross functional environment.
