Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry/Medical-Surgical

• Location: Glenview, IL

• Duration: 8 weeks

• Shift: 12-hour Night Shift, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM

• Floating: May float to other Medical-Surgical units and care for boarded patients in the Emergency Department. This role does not involve caring for regular ED patients.

Job Duties

• Provide nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients.

• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret EKGs, and recognize changes in patient conditions.

• Perform nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.

• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility protocols.

• Monitor vital signs and promptly report significant clinical changes.

• Care for boarded patients in the Emergency Department when assigned, as well as patients on other Medical-Surgical units.

• Maintain accurate patient documentation using the Epic electronic health record.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate treatment and support patient recovery.

• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license .

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience ; 4 or more years preferred.

• Current BLS certification .

• Passing EKG test required at submission.

• Strong Telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills.

• Previous Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience.

• Epic electronic health record experience.

• Ability to float between units and care for boarded patients in the ED.

• Must be available for every-other-weekend rotation and holidays as needed.
