Our motto here at Taylor Robinson Music is "Learn to Play From the Heart", and we are looking for private music instructors who share the same philosophy! We strive to make music lessons as accessible and affordable to as many people as possible because we believe the importance of music education is essential to making the world a better, happier place! Taylor Robinson Music is hiring private music instructors, especially for Piano. We do not have a brick-and-mortar studio location in the Colonial Heights, VA area, but we have students needing teachers ASAP! Lessons can occur in the students\' homes; in your own home or your own studio/rehearsal space; or via webcam. Please note that while we do get requests for webcam, they make up only a small percentage of our student base. Most of our students still prefer in-person lessons, so we need local instructors who can host students and/or are willing to travel to students in the Colonial Heights, VA area. Responsibilities Teach private music lessons (primarily piano) to students, in-person or via webcam as needed. Set your own schedule and develop your own curriculum and lesson plans. Travel to students or host them in your own space when required; in-person lessons are the primary format. Coordinate with Taylor Robinson Music on advertising, marketing, SEO, and billing to help bring in students and reduce administrative load. Be punctual, organized, and maintain good communication with the office. Qualifications Formal music training is not mandatory, but one of the following is required: a degree in music, enrollment in a music program, professional performing experience, or previous teaching experience. Great with kids, passionate about teaching, and able to communicate effectively. Willing to work as an independent contractor; able to host or travel to students in the Colonial Heights, VA area. Local availability and reliability for scheduling. Must follow safety practices (see COVID-19 precautions) and maintain professional conduct. COVID and Safety Some students are comfortable with webcam lessons; most prefer in-person. If in-person, wear a mask, sanitize hands, and practice social distancing when applicable.
