Support Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

• Establish a support maintenance program.
• Provide appropriate, timely maintenance and preventative maintenance to the environmental control equipment, HVAC equipment, and production support equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Is responsible for:
   • Understanding and following policies, procedures, and instructions
   • Identifying and reporting product, process, and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel.
   • Controlling nonconforming products
   • Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions
   • Proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
2. Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.

4. Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures including the proper use of personal protective equipment where required.
5. Performs preventative and basic maintenance, adjustments, set-ups and repairs on all production and facility equipment, with minimal supervision, utilizing accepted procedures and tools to insure minimal downtime and maximum operating efficiency.
6. May work irregular hours and weekends as production and maintenance needs dictate.
7. Subject to fumes, dust, noise, dirt, and some temperature extremes.
8. performs general maintenance on all equipment.
9. plant shutdowns and start-ups.
10. Parts & material requisition.
11. Perform specialized maintenance procedures.
12. Evaluates and prioritizes maintenance schedule.
13. General knowledge of function and operation of robotics.
14. Assume leadership responsibilities.
15. Supervise and train lower-level maintenance personnel during rebuild, repair or installation of machinery and equipment.
16. Take over Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities when needed.
17. Assist Maintenance Supervisor in planning and decision-making process.
18. Understanding and following policies, procedures, and instructions

Primary maintenance responsibilities include oversight of the following:

1. Environmental Controls dust collection systems, MUA units, process exhaust fans, and central vacuum systems.

2. HVAC systems including air conditioning, office furnaces, and water heaters.
3. Production support equipment to include air compressors and dryers, heat exchangers, and water-cooling systems.

Secondary maintenance responsibilities:

1. General and Tooling Maintenance Support including downtime back-up, vacation coverage, backlog assistance, troubleshooting specialist and special projects.

2. Preventative Maintenance Support including technical assistance, annual maintenance responsibilities and program expansion assistance.

3. Parts Procurement Support including technical assistance and program expansion assistance.

Work Environment

This job operates in an industrial plant floor environment. This role routinely uses industrial equipment and tools and works near moving mechanical parts. Seasonally extremely hot. Respirator required as needed. Works in a high lead area. Subject to fumes, dust, noise, and dirt.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time. Be able to bend, twist and turn.

Use of both hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.

The employee must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds infrequently.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, at minimum of 8-hour shifts. Must be able to work all mandatory overtime as required; this could lead to working weekday and weekend overtime. Must have the ability to work a flexible shift to support the facility. Must have the ability to work an on-call schedule.

Monday-Friday, (Saturday and/or Sunday as needed)

1st Shift – Day shift

2nd Shift – Afternoon shift

3rd Shift – Evening shift

Education and Experience Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Minimum high school diploma plus seven (7) years of maintenance experience OR a Technical degree and a minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience.
• Advanced maintenance knowledge required.
• Advanced knowledge of 480-volt 3 ph. Electricity.
• HVAC knowledge.
• General understanding of PLC controls, logic, and programming.
• Familiarization with company, facility, departments, equipment, procedures, and set-ups, while working on the job with personnel in the respective areas.
