Human Resources and Payroll Coordinator

CR Fletcher is seeking aHR and Payroll Administrator for a Professional Services Firm in the Syracuse Area.

Job Summary/Responsibilities:
This role involves managing comprehensive payroll processing, ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws, and maintaining accurate HR records. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and accounting software.

• Process payroll accurately using HRIS/payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or Paylocity.
• Maintain employee records, onboarding/offboarding documentation, benefits, and HR compliance within the HRIS.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and employment regulations.
• Reconcile payroll data, process payroll tax filings, and support payroll-related accounting activities.
• Support employee benefits administration, leave management, audits, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Utilize time and attendance systems while identifying and implementing payroll and HR process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of payroll, human resources, or administrative experience.
• Experience processing payroll and maintaining confidential employee information.
• Knowledge of payroll laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Paychex, ADP, UKG, Paylocity, or similar)
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
