Staff Fullstack Engineer [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Fullstack Engineer based in United States.

This is a staff-level individual contributor opportunity within an AI-native fintech SaaS environment focused on modern financial planning and analysis. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to shape platform architecture, product direction, and engineering practices from an early stage. The role combines hands-on full-stack development with meaningful ownership of complex technical systems and features. You’ll help establish scalable engineering foundations while contributing directly to the product roadmap. Your work will influence both the technology and the effectiveness of the wider engineering team through mentorship and technical leadership. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to remain deeply technical while having broad architectural and organizational impact.

Accountabilities

• Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teammates to prioritize, shape, and execute the product roadmap.

• Design, develop, and take end-to-end ownership of complex product features and software components.

• Build robust, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested applications across the full technology stack.

• Contribute to platform architecture and make technical decisions that support long-term scalability and product evolution.

• Develop frontend experiences using TypeScript/JavaScript and React, alongside backend services built with Node.js.

• Design, deploy, operate, and continuously improve scalable cloud services using Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.

• Model, query, and optimize MongoDB schemas to support reliable performance at scale.

• Establish and promote engineering standards, development practices, and technical patterns that support a high-performing engineering organization.

• Maintain strong testing practices across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Collaborate with Design and Operations teams to improve product functionality, usability, and delivery.

• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance that raises the effectiveness and quality of the wider team.

• Partner with executives and cross-functional stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into clear technical requirements and deliverables.

• Identify opportunities to improve architecture, engineering workflows, product quality, and team effectiveness.

• Remain hands-on in software development while taking ownership of broader technical challenges and architectural decisions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience , including at least 3 years contributing to system design or architecture .

• Strong full-stack engineering capabilities, with proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript , React , and Node.js .

• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively as a full-stack engineer or with a strong frontend specialization complemented by meaningful backend expertise.

• Proven staff-level engineering impact, including architecture ownership, technical leadership, mentoring, and measurable improvements to team effectiveness.

• Experience working directly with executives and cross-functional teams to define strategy, requirements, priorities, and deliverables.

• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery , including designing, deploying, and operating scalable cloud services.

• Expertise in modeling, querying, and optimizing MongoDB schemas for performance and scalability.

• Strong software testing discipline covering unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Ability to make sound technical decisions independently while collaborating effectively with other engineers and business stakeholders.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and interest in solving complex problems from initial concept through production.

• A consistent professional track record with sustained tenure in previous engineering roles.

• Interest in continuing on a senior individual-contributor career path , with a focus on technical impact rather than transitioning into executive management in the near term.

• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

Benefits

• $185,000–$240,000 USD annual salary .
